Ikigai Meaning

Based on Wikipedia, “Ikigai is a Japanese concept referring to something that gives a person a sense of purpose, a reason for living”. It refers to something that brings happiness by doing what matters to you.

Let me ask you, do you feel joy with the things that you are currently doing?

Maybe feeling empty and not interested in things?

I’m going to use this post to take you through a few effective steps to help you make money from creating digital products using your Ikigai. But first, understand what Ikigai’s meaning – as it can help you create an actual online money-making career, and all on autopilot!

In a 2001 research paper on Ikigai, Akihiro Hasegawa, a clinical psychologist and professor at Toyo Eiwa University, placed the word “Ikigai” as part of the everyday Japanese language.

Have you ever been in a situation where you are doing everything you are taught, but you aren’t getting the results that others are getting?

And why do others dominate and are successful, but why not you?

Selling digital products may first appear as an easy way to make money online, but then you soon realized that the web is not an easily tapped goldmine to generate money as you have told.

In the end, you get overwhelmed, confused, and give up!

Eleven years ago, I was just exactly like many burnout professional mommies. Exhausted like working as a cog in a machine and spending months and months trying in vain to manifest an “abundant” life. I have tried the law of attraction and read the secret book. Bought countless products, but ended up frustrated.

Until one day the Ikigai powerful concept comes to my senses….

So, let’s get to work.

Here’s what most people do, and where they fail to create true passive income for their business. They create a business that doesn’t align with their Ikigai. And as a consequence, they lost interest in what they do, were unhappy, and were unfulfilled.

Finding your Ikigai requires a little bit of work in the beginning, and you can’t expect to make money flowing without a proper strategy (we’ll cover this in another post). So, if you want to create a no-limit income money system, then following the steps below is the best way to attract wealth for money to become the by-product of what you do.

1. Take the Ikigai test below

We will do some exercises to help you get started. If you find yourself struggling to answer one or more of the questions just go with your first impulse because finding your life purpose is not a quest, but a lifelong journey.

If you know what makes your life worth living then that’s where your Ikigai lies.

2. Ikigai meaning is finding what you love doing (or are passionate about)

What is your TRUE passion?

Our passion is important when choosing a business name and product topic. You will have to start of thinking a business that is related to the passion you choose because it will be easier to get motivated to make sales from your own signature digital products.

It’s quite normal to be ambitious, but if you don’t have the clue about the things that will give you pleasure and security in life, then you’ll have a tendency to lose sight of your own needs and be jealous of others’ successes.

Even, if you are wired with big and beautiful ideas. It’s difficult to get your best shot at fulfilling your potential and maximizing your self-worth without being passionate about what you do.

3. Discovering what the world needs

People care about having their problems solved. When it comes to health, wellness, and tough situations, are we putting the needs of others first or only considering ourselves?

What you can give to the world?

Do you believe in the boundless worth of every person?

What does your community need more of?

Though I had sixteen years of extensive experience running mainstream multi-million dollar businesses, with my online business journey, I’ve had a lot of trials and errors and learned what works and what doesn’t.

Sometimes finding what the world needs is rooted in what you have been through. Me, for example… when I quit my job and looked for ways how to make money opportunities on the internet, I was bouncing back and forth between different websites like a ping-pong ball only to find out that there is no solution for me to get started.

Use Google search in discovering what the world needs

Ikigai’s meaning is to find a match of what you have been through and match it with the things that people (your target audience) are looking for.

For example, if you are good at teaching your kids how to write neatly or write an essay, you can go to Google and type different phrases you think people are searching for. When I typed “how to teach your child” (see screenshot), you’ll see Google provides me different results like how to teach your child to write neatly or be confident or how to use a urinal.

You can use this process to help you find what the world needs.

4. Ikigai meaning knowing what you are good at

What parts of your past or present job are you effortlessly good at?

Figure out your natural gifts: your talents, skills, and strengths. Because with your own unique experiences, you could be among the best at what you do.

Be open to the possibility to find what you are good at because certain skills help you succeed in creating digital products. For example, if you are naturally gifted with cooking skills, then you may consider creating a business related to cooking egg experts or mother sauces experts.

Use these10 questionnaires below:

Do you collect anything?
A specific sport that you want to commit to in a club or a team?
What skill would you most like to learn?
When walking outside, what catches your attention?
If you are with your friends, what topic do you talk about?
What sounds cool to you?
Is there any video you’d watch just for fun? Why?
Which post on social media draws your attention?
What’s the activity (dancing, organizing a party, writing) you’ve enjoyed the most?
Do you watch tutorials on how to bake better cakes and then practice in your free time?

Spend your time this week, in this self-discovery process that will help you understand yourself and do something you can be paid for.

5. What you can get paid for

This is about the things how you can bring in money to put bread on the table to survive. The good thing is…we are living in a digital world where we can tap into technology and increase our income even without any fancy office.

Selling digital products is one of the best ways to earn a passive income because you create them once and you can set to make sales in an automated way. No overhead cost! And you don’t need to invest in office building construction or renting a warehouse for your goods. And the best part is you can make money while you sleep 24/7.

Doing a business never changed.

You just need these 3 things:

A product to sell (your own signature digital products)
People to buy (customers)
Platform to get paid (I use ClickBank as one of my passive income channels)

Final thoughts

Now, focus on finding the convergence of these four elements:

What you love (your passion)
Discovering what the world needs (your mission)
Things that you are good at (your vocation)
What you can get paid for (your profession)

This will help you gain vitality, be productive, and focused, and be happily reinventing the way you make a good living doing what you love.

Finding your Ikigai will not happen overnight. It’s a journey and not a destination.
